Warning: "This device is linked to a different JOLT account"

JOLT has a one account per mobile device policy. If you attempt to log in or sign up with multiple accounts on your mobile device, you will encounter a warning or an error.

Why am I seeing this message?

The most common reasons for this error are:

  • Forgotten Login: You previously created an account and are now trying to sign up again with a different email address.

  • Shared Devices: Another person (friend or family member) recently used their JOLT account on your phone.

  • Account Deletion: You recently deleted an account and are trying to create a new one. Deleted accounts remain linked to your device for 30 days to prevent promotional abuse.

How to Resolve This

1. "I forgot which email I used"

If you aren't sure which account is linked to your device, do not try to create a new one. This will trigger a lockout for 30 days. Instead:

  1. Search your email inboxes (and junk folders) for "JOLT" to find your original registration.

  2. Use the "Forgot Password" feature on the login screen with your original email.

  3. Once you log back into your primary account, the error will disappear.

2. "I've deleted my account and want a new one"

Our system will keep you locked out for 30 days following an account deletion. You will need to wait until the lockout period has expired before registering a new account on this same device.

3. "I only have one account and I still see this"

If you are certain you have never created another account and no one else has used your device:

  • Refresh the App: Force-close the JOLT app and re-open it.

  • Check for Updates: Ensure you are on the latest version of the app from the App Store or Google Play.

  • Contact Support: If the issue persists, please get in touch with Support with a screenshot of the error, your app version, and your device's Make/Model. Our team can investigate if a technical bug is affecting your device.
